Lesson 6 of 13

The queen

The queen is the strongest piece: she moves like a rook and a bishop together. Values: pawn 1, knight and bishop 3, rook 5, queen 9.

Rook and bishop in one

The queen moves straight and diagonally, as far as the way is clear.

Blocking and capturing

Your own pieces block the queen, an enemy may be captured. Don't trade her for a pawn: she is worth 9 points.
